For the New Building

On August 17, 2021, at 4:00 p.m., the Riverview Community Seventh-day Adventist Church in Greeneville, Tennessee, suffered a devastating combination of a direct lightning strike and downed transmission power line. By the time the transmission line was de-energized, and firefighters could begin fighting the fire, it was too late. The church building was a total loss.
Riverview is a place where God’s love shines. Many have discovered a clearer picture of God’s love and have accepted Jesus as their personal Savior. The gospel lived out at Riverview is powerful! We are awed at what God is doing, doubling our membership in the last 5 years to 185 members!
After the fire, we discovered we were insured for $690,000 (about $100/sf). Current construction costs are about $225/sf. (A friendly reminder to please make sure insurance values for your personal home and church are current.)
We believe God is leading us to rebuild! Community donations (individuals and churches) through September 22, 2023 totaled $334,011. We have been so blessed and encouraged by this generosity that we’re offering you the opportunity to be a part of what God is doing!
Our goal is to raise $750,000 for our rebuild. Contributions are tax deductible. If you feel led to help us rebuild, please donate here or at a First Horizon Bank (Fire Loss Account) or mail a check to Riverview Community Seventh-day Adventist Church, 400 Sanford Circle, Greeneville TN 37743.
Thank you!
