September 9-28

Message: I am delighted to announce that Dr. James Ray McKinney will be speaking at Riverview Community this coming Saturday at 11am with a message entitled “Forgiveness” based on Luke 23:32-38. Dr. McKinney has long been an icon in the Greeneville community representing Takoma Regional Hospital and the wider Seventh-day Adventist church. His messages have been deeply enriching for me personally over the years. I admire His courage and commitment to stand for the Bible though the heavens fall. Expect to come to church and be blessed.

Prayer: 1 John 5:14-15 “And this is the confidence that we have in Him that if we ask anything according to His will: He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.”

Keep Andrew Charles in your prayers. Doctors are still working to discover what is wrong. His faith and trust in God are strong. It was a blessing to visit him in the hospital this week. I ran into Peggy Lowe there too!

Things Happening: Well, it has been awhile since the last post and lots has happened. Unfortunately, a lot of it went undocumented. I enjoyed two days of life coach training at Cohutta. I’ve also had a great time working with SA at GAA in preparing the student week of prayer.

Have you had your picture taken for our church directory yet???!!! Thankful that Candy and Morgan Spillman let me take their photo. If you are reading this, we want you to have your picture taken. And it’s not too late. Sign up for October 11th on the sign-up sheet located in the church foyer.

It has been great to help out with our kids at the Greeneville Pathfinder Club. You can see I took the opportunity for a photo shoot with the youngest honorary pathfinder. We are thankful for Pathfinders and all they do for our kids. We are thankful to share this ministry with our sister church in Greeneville.

Our Sabbath School classes are growing for every age! Here is a picture of Beginners Sabbath School just before it started. Gotta love Dave Chamberlain getting down on the floor with them. “except you be like little children, you cannot enter the kingdom of God.”

If you haven’t made it out to our weekly Wednesday Fellowship Gathering from 6-7pm at the church please join us this coming Wednesday! We are studying the book of Acts and praying that God will prepare us to be who and what He wants us to be to prepare Greene County for His soon return.

Those who made it enjoyed a high Sabbath at the NE TN Campmeeting!

The three of us had the most fun experience at Red Robin on the way down to Cohutta for Life Coach Training. And Katia absolutely loved that balloon.
